I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Biology Department at Lund University. I’m broadly interested in understanding how and why diseases arise and spread given the combined forces of ecology and evolution. To address my questions, I have studied avian malaria parasite infections in a variety of bird species. Currently, I am investigating the underlying causes of a significant increase in malaria prevalence in a Blue Tit population in Southern Sweden. My team and I are using a combination of natural history, genomic tools, and climate modeling, to understand why malaria is increasing.
